Chrome Hearts x Levi's Jeans: How to Spot a Counterfeit?

The Rolling Stones, Kendall Jenner and Yves Saint Laurent have all worked with Chrome Hearts. Founded in 1988, Chrome Hearts became a household name in 1992, winning over many hearts with its mantra: "Everything must be made by hand". In 2021, Chrome Hearts is collaborating with American denim brand Levi's. Together, they are unveiling a collection of upcycled Levi's jeans. The collections released so far have been very limited and have been highly prized for their unique style and superior quality, which sets them apart from other jeans. The price of a pair of jeans is almost €200. This price may turn your head and make you want to go second-hand. However, it would be unfortunate if you found yourself faced with a counterfeit pair of jeans. So here are our tips for spotting fake Levi's x Chrome Hearts jeans.

Chrome Hearts :

If this pair of jeans could be identified by one thing, it would be the double crosses located all over the surface of the trousers. These crosses have features that will put you on the trail of authenticity.

The American brand's authentic crosses are extremely well defined. The stitching around the crosses is identical and tight. This isn't quite the case on counterfeits, where threads hang loose, the stitches aren't deep enough and are also irregular.

You should also take a close look at the leather used on these crosses, which differs between authentic jeans and replicas. Chrome Hearts is known for the quality of the leather it uses. Before the brand was created, one of its creators was a highly reputed leatherworker. The American brand therefore attaches particular importance to this material.

While the leather on genuine jeans will be thick and smooth, the leather on counterfeit jeans will look cheap and much thinner.

Denim buttons :

Also pay particular attention to the buttons on your brand jeans. Counterfeit buttons don't have enough detail. They also don't have the same texture.

The Chrome Hearts logo and the lettering around the buttons are too thick on fake jeans, unlike the real thing, where these details are fine and easy to read.

The details of the brand's buttons are razor-sharp, with every element detailed.

The metal label :

Let's move on to the metal label on one of the jeans' back pockets. The font on fake jeans is completely different to that on real jeans. It's much thicker than it should be.

Chrome Hearts has a truly recognisable logo, thanks to its highly detailed font. Counterfeiters are unable to reproduce it. This is particularly true of the letter 'C'. On jeans from replica factories, this letter is less detailed than on genuine jeans.

The faux denim lettering is also too deeply embedded in the metal.

The washing label :

You should also take a close look at the wash label on your Chrome Hearts jeans. It tells you a lot about their authenticity.

On the first page of this wash label, you should see the brand name. This inscription is too small on counterfeit jeans. Also make sure that all the details of the brand logo are present on this label.
