How can you spot a fake Canada Goose jacket?
Canada Goose is a Canadian company that makes outdoor clothing known for its resistance to the coldest temperatures. Their products are all made in Canada, which explains the high price of the garments they sell. Every seam, every fastening and every design is handmade. But the cost of these down jackets can make your head spin. If you're buying one outside an official shop, here are a few tips to help you determine whether it's a real Canada Goose down jacket or a fake Canada Goose down jacket.

The logo :
First of all, you need to pay attention to the brand logo on the arm. The emblematic logo is often poorly replicated by counterfeiters. It requires a high level of expertise that is difficult to match.
The card on the logo should be slightly grainy and textured. The shape of the map is not meant to be too detailed. Look closely at the sun in the middle of the map of Canada. The details of the sun are representative of the authenticity of the down jacket. The sun's rays should be thin at the tips. Replica factories don't finish them as precisely; the tips of the rays are squarer.
The text on the counterfeit logos is also too thick, particularly on the words "PROGRAM" and "GOOSE". What's more, the maple leaves - the symbol of Canada - between the words are also thicker on counterfeits than on genuine down jackets.

Reflective labels :
The Canada Goose reflective label is very interesting to analyse because this type of label is difficult to counterfeit.
You should be able to see an adorable polar bear; if you can't, it's a sign that you're looking at a fake down jacket from the brand. The fake label is also too shiny, too aggressive for your eyes.
The buttons :
Pay particular attention to the buttons on your down jacket. A genuine button is charcoal grey and completely matt. Counterfeits have much shinier buttons in a lighter, more metallic grey.
Also look at the brand inscription on the buttons. This is often poorly replicated. Counterfeit factories use a much thicker font. Canada" should be on the left-hand side of the button and "Goose" on the right-hand side. If the two words are stuck together, you're probably looking at a replica.

Inside label :
The inner label, although not visible when worn, is a good indicator of the authenticity of your down jacket because of the details it contains.
The original label is nicely stitched to the fabric behind it, whereas the counterfeit label has air bubbles, simply because it hasn't been stitched as securely.
Also look at the small size label attached to the main label. This label is larger and the font finer than on a counterfeit label, as you can see in the image below.

Seams :
Last but not least, check the seams. It's always important to look closely at the seams of garments whose authenticity you doubt.
Meticulousness and precision are the watchwords of the Canadian brand. So if you see uneven seams, loose threads or the slightest flaw, you're most likely looking at a counterfeit down jacket.
