Givenchy Slides: How to Recognize a Counterfeit?
Givenchy, one of the most prestigious names in French haute-couture, has been making luxury ready-to-wear since 1952. Givenchy has enjoyed great success with the promotion of its tap shoes, which are loved by stars such as Rihanna, Bella Hadid and David Beckham. The house of Givenchy has not escaped the scammers who are constantly reproducing 'fake' versions of their clothes and their most emblematic new pieces. Among them, the brand's tap shoes, which are reproduced and put up for sale on second-hand product websites. Unfortunately, if you're not a connoisseur, you could easily be taken in by the tempting offers on the brand's copied products. In this article, we'll give you some effective tips to help you identify genuine Givenchy flip-flops, a luxury product, and differentiate it from a counterfeit.
Packaging
Givenchy takes great care with its brand image and reputation, and places great importance on the quality of the packaging.
If the appliance looks cheap or if the brand inscription on it is not clear, this is the first sign that you should be wary of the product's authenticity. You can also check the writing on the packaging. Counterfeiters are notorious for making a lot of spelling mistakes. If you find any on the packaging or in the exchange with the seller, you are probably dealing with a counterfeit. Here is an example of the packaging you should receive when buying Givenchy brand flip-flops. If this is not the case, check the logo on the product.
The Givenchy print
The brand name on the flip-flops must be very visible. The name Givenchy PARIS must be written on the front of the flip-flop in white. The name "Givenchy" must be written in "bolder" letters than those used for "Paris". All letters should be in capital letters. The lettering should be slightly raised on the product.
The brand name can also be seen on the heel on the side of the flip-flop. The sole is moulded and the Givenchy Paris signature is embossed.
Don't forget to check the back of the flip-flops. This should be anchored by small stars all over the product. The following inscriptions should also be present: "GIVENCHY PARIS" in the centre of the flip-flop and "MADE IN ITALY" at the bottom. The markings are mainly in relief.
The logo
Look out for the Givenchy logo on the packaging and on the flip-flops. It says a lot about the authenticity of the product. If it is clearly visible on the packaging, the product is authentic. If the logo is not visible, be careful.
The brand produces its logo in only one way. The brand name remains "Givenchy paris" written in white on a black background or in black on a white background. The letters are spaced slightly apart and are in capitals. If the logo does not appear at all on the product, or if it is of poor quality, you are dealing with a counterfeit.
The serial code
Check the serial code. It's important to know that each Givenchy product has its own code. This guarantees the authenticity of each product by using a unique and identifiable code. For example, the code for Givenchy flat slide shoes made from 100% rubber is as follows: BH300HH0EP-001
If there is no code when you exchange with the seller, you can always ask them for one. If they don't agree to give it to you, then beware. You're probably dealing with a counterfeit.
