Lady Dior D-Lite handbag: How to spot a counterfeit?

Since 1946, the House of Dior has continued to expand its irresistible creations. In just 10 years, the brand revolutionised the codes of elegance and femininity by creating collections as beautiful as dreams. Dior offers Parisian haute couture ready-to-wear.

Her Lady Dior bag is a hit, but that hasn't escaped the attention of counterfeiters... Priced from €3,900 on the luxury brand's official website, many people are approaching classified ad sites to buy this product second-hand from individuals. Unfortunately, if you're not a connoisseur, you could easily be taken in by the tempting offers on the brand's copied products. In this article, we reveal 5 tips that will help you identify a genuine Lady Dior bag and differentiate it from a counterfeit product.

Analyse the interior label

First of all, check the inside label of your Lady Dior bag to find out whether it is genuine or not. You can also check the writing on it, the thickness, the size, the quality of the printing and its location. A genuine bag has no defects on the label; if you see any, it's probably a counterfeit. The brand name must appear on the label, followed by the words "Made in Italy", which indicate where the product was made. If it says anything other than 'Made in Italy', you are dealing with a potential counterfeit, as the bags are made exclusively in Italy.

Look for the words "Christian Dior Paris" on the front of your bag.

Your bag must be solid and of very good quality. On the front of the Lady Dior, it should say Christian Dior Paris. The text on a fake Dior bag is often printed too thickly compared to the real thing. An irregularity between the letters can also be very visible to the naked eye on a fake Lady Dior bag. Make sure that the logo is identical to the logo on the luxury brand's official website.

Shoulder strap and logo

The Lady Dior is unique in that it has a shoulder strap as well as a small handle. Make sure that the inside of the shoulder strap is inscribed with the brand name "Christian Dior Paris" on both sides. Below is a preview of this model.

This product is also attached by a sort of small 'key ring' with the letters of the brand, a D, an I, a large O which is much more present than the other letters, and an R. If these elements are not visible or present on your bag, please check the authenticity of your handbag. This is what it should look like.

Check the handle on your Dior bag

Now analyse the handle of your second-hand Lady Dior bag. You should be aware that on many imitations, the handle of Lady Dior bags seems too wide and not really very oval in shape. On authentic products, on the other hand, the handle is perfectly oval and slightly short, which is why you should opt for the shoulder strap.

Look inside your Lady Dior bag

Finally, take a look at the inside of your bag. First of all, you should know that an authentic product has the seams of the inscription "Christian Dior Paris" on the inside, present on the outside front of your handbag. There is also a small label that mentions the brand of your luxury bag. Finally, inspect the interior colours. The bottom of the bag should be black and on the sides the front print of the bag should also be present on the inside. Here's a preview.
