How can I check the authenticity of a Canada Goose jacket?
If you've heard of this brand, we're sure you've already seen a fake Canada Goose jacket. Some of them are very well made, but some can be identified as fakes at a glance. Follow the guide to the end to find out the best ways to authenticate a Canada Goose jacket.
1 - The Canada Goose logo patch
The Arctic disc is the Canada Goose brand, conceived in the 1980s by David Reiss and designed to represent an inverted view of the North Pole, consisting of an outline of white land with small blue details inside. The white mass represents the ocean and the blue dots are islands, as brand CEO Dani Reiss explains in an interview.
The patch, which shows the brand logo, should have clean embroidery and the correct font. Some coats have the badge on the left arm, some on the right. The maple leaves and brand name should be the same size and evenly spaced. The card, on the other hand, is supposed to be grittier and more textured, not strangely striped as shown in the image on the left. The shape of the map isn't supposed to be very detailed either. The small blue details and the red sun have been reproduced very carelessly. The letters should be thicker and larger, as should the maple leaves. There shouldn't be a large gap between the icons and the edges. Counterfeits will therefore generally have poorly reproduced patches, with uneven embroidery and inaccurate colours.
2 - The quality of the fur
It may be controversial, but it's no secret that Canada Goose uses real fur, as they believe it keeps the body warmer in extreme weather conditions. To that end, Canada Goose fur trims are made from coyote fur, which is high quality and has a distinct look and feel. The trims are incredibly soft and full.
On counterfeit products, the fur is neither high quality nor coyote, as it is usually dog or raccoon fur. These furs on counterfeit Canada Goose jackets are fatter and stiffer than coyote fur. Also, as you can see above, the fake Canada Goose jacket in the photo on the left is less bulky than the authentic one.
3 - The hologram
Another important feature of the Canada Goose parka is the hologram, which is difficult for counterfeiters to reproduce. The hologram security label is a feature that was implemented in 2011 to help combat counterfeiters. You'll find it in every Canada Goose jacket and accessory made after 2011. The genuine Canada Goose hologram will always feature a polar bear and will be well positioned on the supporting fabric. On some counterfeits, the hologram will tend to slip due to poor quality glue and will offer less detail in the reflections from different angles. On most counterfeits, you won't even see a hologram.

By looking at the hologram before you buy a product you can really confirm whether you are buying a real or fake Canada Goose jacket. The web address should say "canada-goose.com" not "canada.goose.com", if it has a dot between the words it's a fake.
4 - The label with the dispatch tag
As for another step in the legitimate Canada Goose jacket verification guide, we will analyze the "SHIPPING" tag. The main problem with this "SHIPPING" tag is that fake Canada Goose items have poor stitching quality, which we'll see in the Canada Goose jacket images below.
As you can see from the fake or real Canada Goose image above, the problem with the "SHIPPING" label is that the stitching has extra threads that connect the letters on replica Canada Goose items. A genuine Canada Goose item is not supposed to look like this as it will have good quality seams that are clean and well finished.
