How can you spot fake Gucci Brixton Loafers?
There's one thing about Gucci; every one of their products borders on perfection. For example, Gucci shoes are some of the best you can get your hands on. For Gucci lovers, you are witnessing the greatness of the brand and its products. Not only quality, Gucci is also a status symbol. Once the Brixton Gucci loafers hit the market, they smashed sales and popularity charts. Everyone wanted them before they sold out. And with the explosion in popularity also comes the fact that these iconic loafers are falling victim to counterfeiting. But the good news is that in this article we're going to give you a few tips on how to spot fake Gucci Brixton Loafers.
1. Overall appearance
To authenticate your Gucci loafers, start by analysing the overall appearance. First of all, take a look at the quality of the leather in both cases: the genuine leather is grainy, which makes it super resistant, while the fake leather looks smoother and poorly made. When it comes to stitching, you can tell the difference between fake and genuine Gucci: although it's very neat, tight and symmetrical on the original model, the replica stitching is almost impossible to see. This will cause the shoe to fall apart.
What's a Gucci Brixton Loafer without its metal detailing? As you can see, the hardware on fake Gucci shoes is loose, oddly coloured and differently shaped when it's supposed to be exquisite and solid.

2. Side seams
A very nice detail on this model is the fold-over heel, which allows the shoe to be worn as a slipper or as an ordinary loafer. You can see how the line from heel to toe on the authentic Gucci model makes this possible, but we highly doubt that the heel is foldable on the fake Gucci shoes.
Even if it is, the stitching is so poorly done that it won't last long as we've pointed out how fake Gucci loafers have their stitches with too little thickness. Also, the 0.5cm high heel hasn't been reproduced well on the copy, as it's shorter and its Asterisk detail looks scratched instead of etched.

3. The front of the insoles
Flipping over the Gucci Brixton loafers, let's quickly take a look at the small details on the front of their soles. As you can see, the original sole is very well carved and engraved whereas these details on the sole of Gucci's fake pair just look scratched; the quality isn't even similar.
Indeed, if you look at authentic Gucci Brixton loafers, you can see how the lines on their soles are shorter, smaller and thicker than those found on the fake shoes. Not only that, but the squares are also too thin on the fake loafers, as they're too deep into the sole fabric. What's more, the placement of the gold screws isn't right either, not to mention the poor quality.

4. Text on the outsole
On the sole of a counterfeit, the small engraved details that create an outline are not as defined and deeply engraved as on the authentic sole. This problem also applies to the lettering: the letters (e.g. "made in Italy"), as well as the numbers, are supposed to be deeply engraved with a black colour, as shown in the image on the left. In fact, starting with the text "GUCCI", you can see from the photos below how the fake Brixton loafers have their lettering too thin, and how the authentic ones have their text thicker.
Moving on to the size text, you can see how the numbers on the fake shoes use a different font to the font on the authentic pair.

5. The insole
The insole of Gucci loafers should also be carefully observed. The main flaw that is immediately apparent is the font: each letter is very defined, bold and deeply engraved on the authentic insole, especially the letters 'G' and 'U'. Whereas on the fake insole, they're so pale that it's almost impossible to see them. For example, you can see the difference on the "made in Italy" text.
Not only the lettering, but the material is also a problem - the fake surface is smoother than it's supposed to be.

6. The serial number
The serial number of Gucci Brixton loafers is the last method we'll be analysing today. Not every fake Gucci model has an 8-digit serial number, but some do.
It is therefore essential to find the main differences in the way these numbers have been written. Indeed, while each number is glittering gold and round on the authentic model, they are very pale and differently shaped on the image of the imitation Gucci loafers.
