How to spot fake white Nike Sacai VaporWaffle?

After the "White Black Legend Blue" and the "Snow Beach", Nike and the famous Japanese brand Sacai are renewing their collaboration with the release of the "VaporWaffle" pair. This original, comfortable pair has won over many sneaker addicts. Unfortunately, scammers have seized on its fame by offering replicas of this iconic pair. Here are some tips on how to spot a fake white VaporWaffle from a real white VaporWaffle.

The shoebox:

First of all, it's easy to tell the difference between a real pair and a fake thanks to the shoe box. Start by looking at the label on one of the outer sides of the box. Counterfeiters use a very large text size, unlike the classic, authentic Nike box labels.

If you're looking at a replica, you'll also be able to observe it from inside the box. The protective paper will probably be missing. If it exists, it may be at the bottom of the box, sometimes even without the Nike logo.

Spare laces :

The tangled spare laces are also an indication of the pair's non-authenticity. On a real VaporWaffle, the laces are put directly into the shoes so that they are neither damaged nor tangled.

The colour of the laces is also an indicator. They should be a crystalline white, slightly shiny. Scammers will offer you laces in a duller, creamy-white colour.

The front of the shoe:

Pay particular attention to the toe area. The material used in this area resembles suede and is completely different if you are looking at a replica or a real pair. On a counterfeit, the colour used will be cream and dull, giving the impression that the shoe has not aged well.

The double label :

One of the special features of this pair of shoes is the double label on the tongue. The labels should overlap and slightly hide the "Sacai" inscription. Counterfeiters place the two labels in the wrong way. They are often too far apart.

Soles :

Also check the insoles of your shoes. If they are dark white with bluish highlights, you are looking at a counterfeit. Don't hesitate to test the sole too. Simply turn the sole over and press it down with your hand. Look to see if it sticks to your palm. If it does, there's a good chance your shoes are the real thing.
