How can you spot fake Yeezy Slides?
Yeezy Slides are the result of a collaboration between the Adidas brand and the Yeezy brand owned by the famous rapper Kanye West. After sneakers, Kanye West is tackling the world of flip-flops with the unveiling of the first Yeezy Slides in 2019. Somewhat controversial at the time of their official release, the Yeezy Slides are now the talk of the town.
Here are the main tips for recognising counterfeit Adidas Yeezy Slide flip-flops.
Between dupes and counterfeits
Yeezy Slides are so popular that they are not only subject to counterfeiting, but also to many dupes. As explained in our article on the distinction between a dupe and a counterfeit, a dupe is a product that resembles another product of a brand that is generally more expensive, in terms of colour, texture and material.
Dupes are inspired by trends. Today's trend is the Yeezy Slide, and many brands have understood this. You can find quality Yeezy Slide dupes at very affordable prices from retailers such as AliExpress, Wish, Bershka and Asos. On a dupe, you won't find the Adidas brand name, but rather the brand name of the dupe's creator. This is the main difference between dupes and counterfeits.

Scan the barcode of your Yeezy Slides
The first thing to do to check the authenticity of your Yeezy Slides is to scan the barcode available on the Adidas box label. All Yeezy brand shoes have a unique barcode that combines the colour of the shoe, the type of shoe and the size.
Type this number into Google, and if your pair of Yeezy Slides is genuine, your search results should show the name, brand, colour and size of the shoe in question based on this number alone. If your search results show a different Yeezy Slide to the one you received, or simply do not show any Yeezy Slide at all, you are in possession of a counterfeit.

Check the Adidas logo on the insole
Let's move on to the Yeezy Slide itself and, more specifically, the Adidas logo. The logo on a real Yeezy Slide should be engraved into the sole and perfectly symmetrical. Unlike a fake pair of Yeezy Slides, the logo is clearly visible on the shoe.

Inspect the inside of your pair of Yeezy Slides
Now take a look inside your pair of Adidas Yeezy Slides. In a genuine pair of Yeezy Slides, you'll find the name "Yeezy", the shoe size and the text "Made in China" written in 3D. If any of these elements are missing, there's no doubt you have a fake pair of Yeezy Slides. Also check the print quality of these texts, they must be perfectly legible.

Analyse the toe area of your Yeezy Slides
Finally, the last very reliable tip is to analyse the toe area of your pair of Adidas Yeezy Slide flip-flops. On counterfeit Yeezy Slides the rounding in this area is often poorly reproduced, it's not fluid enough. Also, when you look at this area from the side, you can see that it is much higher and curved than on a real pair of Yeezy Slide.
