How can you spot a fake The North Face jacket?
Their style and history have enabled The North Face brand to establish itself on the market. The North Face offers an unrivalled range of high performance clothing, footwear and equipment, all of the highest quality. One of these is the down jacket, which has been a huge success thanks to its range of sizes and colours. Unfortunately, this popularity has been exploited by counterfeiters, who have been quick to create replicas of this now essential garment. If you buy it outside an official shop, here are a few tips to help you tell whether it's a real The North Face down jacket or a fake.

The colour of the label :
The first indicator of the authenticity of a The North Face jacket is its label. The real brand label shows all the details very clearly. In other words, the details of the mountains or the fog should be completely clear. On counterfeit labels, the details will be much less visible.
Also look carefully at the colour, which should be dark blue. On a replica, the label is generally darker, sometimes even completely black.

The zip :
The zips on The North Face jackets have 'YKK' embroidered on the metal. Counterfeiters usually forget these small details or, in the case of this zip, use different letters.
The fabric label hanging from it also has certain details. Its shape must have rounded corners. On counterfeits, the fabric label is straight and has much sharper corners.

Chest logo :
Pay particular attention to the logo on the chest. Look at the placement of the lettering and the stitching.
Counterfeiters of The North Face down jackets often can't reproduce the clean cuts of the logo. So it's not unusual to see the seams of the letters blended together. This is a direct sign that your jacket is not authentic. The text must also be perfectly aligned with the stripes of the logo.
Also check the alignment of the three logo stripes with each other, particularly their lower edges. If these edges are not correctly aligned, you are probably looking at a replica.
Also check that there are no threads protruding from the seams of the logo. This sloppiness is typical of replica factories.
