How can you spot fake Golden Goose Superstar trainers?
The Italian brand Golden Goose fascinates as much as it intrigues. The term "Golden Goose" literally means "Hen with golden eggs". With this name, the brand emphasises the strong identity for which it is renowned: offering unique and authentic pieces. All the brand's trainers are handcrafted in Italy in the Golden Goose workshops. Each model is hand-patinated for a "wear and tear" effect that is emblematic of the brand. But counterfeiters have seized on the craze for these trainers by replicating them for profit. If you buy them outside official shops, here are a few tips to help you identify real Golden Goose trainers from fake ones.

The emblematic star :
If there's one thing that makes Goldens Goose stand out, it's the big star on the side of the shoe. This star is emblematic of the brand, so you need to pay particular attention to it.
The original star is made up of multiple sequins of different sizes and colours, giving it a unique appearance. Counterfeiters, in the interests of efficiency, do not take the same care in making the star. Counterfeit stars are made from sequins that are all similar in colour and shape.
The counterfeit star is also often incorrectly positioned on the trainer. As you can see from the image below, the top leg of the star is cut far too low on replica Golden Goose trainers.
On the left, a genuine Golden Goose star, on the right, a counterfeit star.
The back of the shoe:
Also check the back of the shoe carefully. This will tell you whether it's a real Golden Goose trainer or a replica.
The 'Golden Goose' lettering on the back of the shoe is larger on authentic trainers than on counterfeits. The logo should also have a grainy look, which replica factories don't bother to redo.
The heel collar should be silver and slightly shiny. This material is difficult to counterfeit. Swindlers will also offer you a silver material, but with multi-coloured reflections.
Insoles :
Pay attention to the insoles too. Superstar" letters are thick and wide. The letters on a fake insole are smaller, differently shaped and less bold. The number to the right of the brand label is more deeply engraved on a genuine insole.

Front of the shoe :
Also look at the front of your Golden Goose superstar shoes, and more specifically the laces.
Authentic laces are white and grey, with a more aged look on the sides of the laces, as if the laces had been worn for a long time. Replica factories frequently use completely grey laces without any shading.

The superstar trainer is world-famous for its 'wear and tear' effect, which is unique and difficult to counterfeit. This effect is often poorly reproduced by replica factories, which make a clear mark to create this effect. On an authentic trainer, the wear mark blends into the shoe.

The dust bag:
The dust bag is very interesting to analyse. A real dust bag is made of cotton. This material makes the bag thick and strong. Counterfeiters do not use cotton, which makes the bag thin and easily crumpled.
Also check that the string on the bag is black. Some counterfeit factories use a different colour string, which tells you straight away that you are dealing with a replica.
