How can you spot a fake Tommy Hilfiger jumper?
A timeless luxury brand, Tommy Hilfiger has been reinventing itself ever since it was founded in 1984. Bearing the name of his brand, Tommy Hilfiger is today one of the best-known and most recognised designers. He has established his brand as a leader in the lifestyle market. Unfortunately, he has not been able to free himself from counterfeiters, who are constantly creating replicas of his best-known garments, including the brand's iconic jumper. But nothing can match Tommy Hilfiger's craftsmanship. That's why, in this article, we'll be revealing our tips on how to tell a real Tommy Hilfiger jumper from a fake one.
The collar :
Collar edging :
First of all, pay attention to the white and red piping on the inside of the jumper's collar. This detail is important because it highlights the famous colours of the brand's logo. So it has to be perfect, because it's symbolic.
On a genuine jumper, the piping will go all the way round the collar and the seam between the two ends of the collar will be fine, almost imperceptible. On a counterfeit, on the other hand, the seams are larger and more conspicuous. On some replicas, the edging doesn't even go around the collar. So pay close attention to this detail.

Collar label :
Also check the label under the collar piping. You should find a straight label with the words "TOMMY HILFIGER" under the collar piping. This label is sewn directly onto the jumper, there is no space between the two.
This label must be accompanied by a small sub-label indicating the size of the jumper. A piece of string is attached to this small label, to which the cardboard purchase label is attached.
Replica factories don't bother to create all these labels. The result is a straight label that is not completely sewn to the jumper (a finger can slip between the two). The size is written directly on the label, often on the side. The piece of string for the purchase label is attached to this single label.
The washing label :
Also check the washing label on the inside of the jumper, towards the bottom. Make sure that this label is accompanied by another small, thicker label with a number on it.
This number corresponds to the garment's serial number, certifying its authenticity.
On a counterfeit garment, only one label will be present, the washing label. The label showing the serial number will not be present.

Chest logo :
Also look out for the brand logo on the chest, which says a lot about the authenticity of your jumper.
The Tommy Hilfiger logo is simple but requires a certain amount of skill. It consists of a small white rectangle on the left, another small red rectangle on the right and two black horizontal stripes at the top and bottom. The horizontal stripes are thinner than the two small coloured rectangles. Check that all these features are present on the jumper.
Also look at the seams of the logo. To do this, turn your jumper inside out to see the inside. Look at the seams, you should be able to make out the logo through the seams. On imitation Tommy Hilfiger jumpers, you won't be able to make out the logo through the white sewing threads.

Seams :
Take a close look at your Tommy Hilfiger garment. The brand is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, so if you find any irregularities or asymmetries in the seams, you're probably looking at a replica.
