Air Jordan 2 Retro : How to spot a counterfeit?

Air Jordan trainers have been legendary in the world of basketball since 1985. Sneaker fans or not, everyone is won over. The Air Jordan 1 is very popular. Today, the Air Jordan 2 Retro is just as much loved by everyone.

His sneakers are a huge success, but that hasn't escaped the attention of counterfeiters. They are constantly reproducing "fake" versions of them.

Unfortunately, if you're not a connoisseur, you can easily be fooled by the tempting offers of the brand's copied products. In this article, we'll be revealing some tips that will help you identify an authentic pair of Air Jordan 2 Retro and differentiate it from a counterfeit product.

1.labels

The label on the inside flap

To check the authenticity of your Air Jordan 2 Retro, start by analysing the labels. First of all, the inner label must have perfectly legible text with no typos or printing errors. You can look at the font size and placement on the label. On a fake label, the colour is less visible, the writing is particularly blurred and it can rub off.

Below is an overview of the elements described above. At the top is the real label, and at the bottom is an imitation.

The waist label

Analyse the label that tells you the size of your product. In the same way as the label on the inside flap, you can compare the size, the writing, the spaces between the letters, the clarity, the quality... It's also important to check for spelling mistakes, as many counterfeiters don't pay much attention to writing and make a multitude of spelling errors, whether in the handwriting or in the name of the brand and product.

2 The underside of the sole

The brand name is obviously an element to be taken into account on a product when looking for a counterfeit. Despite the fact that the brand name is increasingly present and resembles a real Nike brand name, a counterfeit is still a counterfeit. There are always more or less important details to spot and identify if in doubt. The brand inscription on the product is still very poorly imitated and identifiable to the naked eye.

On a real pair of Air Jordan 2 sneakers, on the back of the sole, you can see the brand name 'Nike' embossed in large letters on a black background. Around this, the background remains white with a red section. If you don't see the brand name on the bottom of your trainer, you're probably looking at a counterfeit. You are probably dealing with a counterfeit.

This is what the underside of your sole should look like.

3 The seams of the sole

Finishes are often overlooked or considered unimportant, but seams can be a real means of identifying counterfeits. An imitation can quickly be identified by the protruding threads and curling seams. To see these features, you can remove the first insoles to gain access to the ones underneath. Check that the threads are short and thick enough. If this is not the case and the seams on your insole look like the right-hand side of the photo below, then you're probably dealing with a counterfeit.

Your sole should look like the image on the left.

4. The logo

It is preferable not to forget an element such as the logo, to avoid imitation.

As mentioned above, the Nike logo is located on the sole of the Air Jordan 2, as well as on the back of the sneaker. The logo must be in capitals and red. It should appear in relief and be framed by a red rectangle.

Here's what the logo should look like.
