Hermès watch: how can you identify a fake watch?

Hermès watches are luxury watches designed by the famous French fashion brand Hermès. They are known for their elegant style and exceptional quality. Hermès watches are usually made from high-quality materials, such as stainless steel or gold, and are often adorned with luxurious details, such as diamonds or pearls. Since their release, they have been coveted by a wide audience. Unfortunately, the success of this luxury accessory has not been able to keep away the crooks who have been quick to replicate the product. They sell their counterfeit products on unofficial luxury brand websites. So it's imperative to be on your guard and be able to spot and therefore avoid a fake Hermès watch. In this article, we give you our tips on how to do just that.

The Hermès logo :

First of all, please pay particular attention to the Hermès logo on the underside of the watch. It is representative of the origin of the accessory.

On an authentic watch from the luxury brand, you need to find the iconic Hermès carriage logo. Every detail of the logo must be precise and detailed. It should also be embossed, which is not the case on counterfeits. If the Hermès emblem has the wrong proportions, is double marked or appears to be laser engraved rather than moulded into the case back, these are red flags.

The crown :

Also look carefully for the letter 'H' on the crown of the watch. The crown is the small round piece on the side that you turn to wind the watch or set the time. This part of the watch requires unique attention and know-how that crooks do not possess.

Replica watches do not reproduce this detail to perfection. The 'H' on the crown is too thick and not as defined. Nor is it uncommon to find it missing altogether. The 'H' on a true French luxury watch is precise, thin and perfectly symmetrical.

The Hermès box :

Also analyse the packaging of your Hermès luxury watch box. The packaging is a feature to be taken into account. Check that the Hermès box is the right colour. The brand is known for its orange boxes, but counterfeit factories generally use the wrong shade of orange. It is often darker than it should be.

Also take a look at the contents of the luxury box. Hermès luxury watches come with a cleaning cloth as well as a user manual followed by a warranty. If the box you have does not contain these items, you are probably looking at an imitation accessory.

Materials :

Hermès watches are made from high-quality materials such as stainless steel and gold. The brand attaches particular importance to the materials it chooses to make its products, and watches are no exception.

Counterfeiters do not use the same types of materials, which makes the watches they produce look cheap. If the watch has one of these, also look at the seams, which are supposed to be tight and regular. This is not the case with counterfeits, where the seams are spaced out and irregular.
